    Introduction of MM2H

    What is MMH2?

    The Malaysia My Second Home Program (MM2H) is a housing program created by the government of Malaysia          to allow foreigners to live in Malaysia for a period of ten years, and this visa is renewable. A successful applicant    can bring a spouse, an unmarried child under the age of 21, and parents who are over 60 years old.

    Since the program is introduced in 2002, over 40,000 applications have been approved. Malaysia is ranked as        the fifth best country in the world to retire, making it the highest-ranked Asian country. Besides the year-round,  warm sunny climate, Malaysia is well-known for its affordable cost of living, accessible health care and good infrastructure.

    – Applicant Eligibility –

    i) MM2H Applicants aged below 50 years old:

      • RM 500,000 or more asset certificate and RM 10,000 / month income certificate
      • Must place a Fixed Deposit in a bank account in Malaysia of RM300,000
      • Can withdraw up to RM150,000 for the purchase of house, medical insurance or children’s education expenses after the deposit has been placed for one year
      • Applicants can use their car purchase grant to withdraw part of their Fixed Deposit after two years.
      • Must maintain a minimum balance of RM150,000 from second year onwards and throughout stay in Malaysia under this program.

    ii) MM2H Applicants aged 50 years and above:

      • RM 350,000 asset certificate and RM 10,000 / month income certificate
      • Must place a Fixed Deposit in a bank account in Malaysia of RM150,000
      • Can withdraw up to RM50,000 of the fixed deposit after one year to purchase of house, medical insurance, or children’s education expenses.
      • Applicants can use their car purchase grant to withdraw part of their Fixed Deposit after two years.
      • Must maintain a minimum balance of RM100,000 throughout their stay in Malaysia under this program.

    – How to Apply –

    Step 1: Pre-submission

    Apply online via Check N track system. Download the relevant forms and necessary documents.

    Step 2: Submission of documents

      • Letter of Applicaiton
      • A copy of resume
      • MM2H Application Form
      • MM2H Application Form for Dependents (age below 21 years old)
      • IM.12 Form (Social Visit Pass)
      • Passport Size Photo
      • Passport
      • Letter of Good Conduct (LOGC)
      • Medical Report
      • Birth Certificate
      • Bank Statement
      • Source of Income
      • Authorization Letter
      • Job and Salary Verification Letter

    Step 3: Conditional Approval Letter

    Upon successful submission of the above documents, you will be issued a Conditional Approval Letter by the MM2H Centre, Immigration Department. This approval letter may take 4-5 months to be issued.

    Step 4: Arrival in Malaysia

    Upon arrival in Malaysia, you need to set up your fixed deposit account and submit the Fixed Deposit Certificate to MM2H Authority within the first 6 months of arrival.

    Next, all applicants and their dependents must purchase a Medical Insurance and go through a medical examination at any private hospital or registered clinic in Malaysia.

    Step 5: Visa Collection

    After submitting the remaining documents, you can collect your visa from the MM2H Immigration Centre.
